Bristol Zoo

Established in 1836, Bristol Zoo was one of the world’s oldest scientific zoos, occupying a historic site in the Clifton district of Bristol for nearly two centuries. The zoo was known for its Victorian gardens, listed buildings and diverse collection of animals, forming a long-standing part of Bristol’s cultural and scientific heritage before closing in 2022.
