Córdoba

Córdoba stands on the banks of the Guadalquivir River in Andalusia and was one of the most important cities of medieval Europe during the height of the Umayyad Caliphate. Its historic centre, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserves an exceptional concentration of Islamic, Jewish and Christian heritage.

Narrow streets, whitewashed courtyards and historic squares surround landmarks such as the Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba, reflecting centuries of architectural and cultural change. The combination of monumental buildings, traditional neighbourhoods and the Guadalquivir River gives the city a distinctive historic character.
