Granada, Spain
Granada lies at the foot of the Sierra Nevada in southern Spain, where the foothills of the mountains meet the fertile plain of the Vega. Once the capital of the Nasrid Kingdom, the city is best known for the Alhambra and Generalife, whose hilltop setting overlooks the historic neighbourhoods below.
The city combines medieval streets, Renaissance architecture and remnants of its Islamic past within a compact urban landscape. Elevated viewpoints across Granada reveal the relationship between the Alhambra, the Albaicín district and the surrounding mountains, creating one of Andalusia’s most distinctive cityscapes.
