Photographing Lake District

The Lake District is a mountainous landscape in Cumbria shaped by glacial valleys, lakes, rivers and high fells. The relationship between water, rock and elevation defines the character of the region, with steep valleys and rugged peaks creating a distinctive sense of scale.

Stone villages, traditional farms and historic pathways form part of the wider landscape, reflecting centuries of human interaction with the surrounding environment. The contrast between open uplands and sheltered valleys is central to the character of the area.
