Photographing Vancouver

Vancouver occupies a peninsula between the waters of Burrard Inlet and False Creek, framed by the Coast Mountains to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the west. Glass towers, historic neighbourhoods and extensive waterfronts combine to create a city where the natural landscape remains a constant presence.

The city’s shoreline, parks and elevated viewpoints offer varied perspectives across the harbour, mountains and modern skyline. Frequent changes in weather, reflected light on the water and the contrast between contemporary architecture and the surrounding landscape contribute to Vancouver’s distinctive character throughout the year.
