Waterfall cascading over rocks in Dungeon Ghyll, surrounded by rugged landscape and leafless tree.

Dungeon Ghyll

Following heavy rainfall, the lower cascades of Dungeon Ghyll surge over open rock ledges on the slopes above Great Langdale.

The fast-flowing stream descends from the surrounding fells before entering the valley below. This view highlights the power of the water as it cuts through the rugged landscape of the central Lake District.

Notes

Following heavy rainfall, the lower cascades of Dungeon Ghyll surged over open rock ledges above Great Langdale. A tree positioned above the upper falls appeared to be growing from the cascades themselves.
