Eilean Donan Castle stands on a small tidal island at the meeting point of Loch Duich, Loch Long, and Loch Alsh.
Originally established in the thirteenth century, the castle was rebuilt in the early twentieth century after lying in ruins for nearly two hundred years. This dusk view captures the illuminated fortress against the darkened landscape of the western Highlands.
