This small waterfall flows through an uplands area of western Eryri National Park. Photographed after dark, the long exposure softens the flowing water while flashes of light reveal individual droplets suspended above the cascade, creating a contrast between movement and stillness.

Evening Cascade
Photographer's notes
I visited waterfall after dark to try a technique I'd seen in a photography magazine. Using a long exposure and a handheld flash, I moved around the scene, firing the flash from different positions.
