Distant river runs through dramatic mountain terrain.

Scafell Pike

This view looks across the central fells of the Lake District towards Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England.

The landscape has been shaped by ancient volcanic activity and later sculpted by glaciers, creating the rugged terrain visible today. Photographed from the high ground above Hardknott Pass, the scene captures the wild character of Cumbria’s mountainous interior.
