The Alhambra

Mirador Sacromonte , ,

The Alhambra stands above the city of Granada, illuminated by the warm light of the setting sun with the mountains of the Sierra Nevada rising beyond.

Originally constructed as a fortress before becoming a Nasrid royal palace during the 13th and 14th centuries, the Alhambra is one of Spain’s most significant historic monuments. Its hilltop setting has made it a defining feature of Granada’s skyline for centuries.
