What personal data I collect and why I collect it
This website collects small amounts of data about visitors including:
- your Internet Protocol (IP) address
- details of which internet browser you are using
- details of the country you are visiting from and what language you use
- information about which pages on this website you view
- information about the device you are using
This information is used to help with the functionality of the site, assist with security, reduce spam, and to help with the future development of the site. Some of this information is shared with Google’s reCAPTCHA service in order to check you are human.
If you choose to use the contact forms or comments forms on this site then additional information is also collected including:
- your name
- your email address
- any comments you make
- your web address (if you have one)
This information is used so I can respond to your message. This information is stored on the web server and a copy is emailed to Ric Barratt Photography. If you use the comments form then some of the information you submit may be displayed publicly on this website including your name and the comments you have made.
Should you attempt to log in to this site then additional data will also be collected including your attempted username or attempted email address. This information is collected for security purposes.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on this site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies will be created to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Where your data is sent to
Information such as your IP address, user agent, timestamp of events, information about which pages you are viewing, browser language, country code, and device is sent to Automattic in order to provide statistical data regarding this WordPress site, and to provide some of the functionality of the site (such as the infinite scroll function).
If you use the comments form or the contact form then additional information might be sent to Automattic or Google, including your name and your email address. This is used to help guard against spam and so that I can reply to your comments.
Who I share you information with
Apart from as set out above, your information is not shared with anybody (except in the case where I am legally obliged to so).
How long I retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on this website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
You can request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
