Photographing Blagaj

Fed by the clear waters of the Buna River, Blagaj is a historic village in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, best known for the dramatic karst spring that emerges beneath towering limestone cliffs. At the base of the rock face stands the historic Blagaj Tekke, a sixteenth-century Dervish monastery whose setting has become one of the country’s most recognisable landscapes.

The combination of sheer cliffs, clear water and historic architecture creates a distinctive meeting of natural and cultural features, reflecting the character of the Herzegovinian karst landscape.
