Photographing Mostar

Mostar is centred on the Neretva River and is best known for Stari Most, the 16th-century stone bridge that links the historic quarters on either side of the water. Ottoman architecture remains prominent throughout the old town, while later European influences reflect the city’s layered history.

Narrow cobbled streets, stone buildings and riverside viewpoints contribute to the character of the urban landscape. The contrast between historic architecture, the river corridor and the surrounding limestone hills creates a strong sense of place within southern Bosnia and Herzegovina.
