Photographing Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye is a rugged island off the north-west coast of Scotland, known for its dramatic mountains, sea cliffs, peninsulas and coastal landscapes. Geological processes have created a distinctive terrain of rock formations, ridges and sheltered bays, giving the island a varied and often striking appearance.

The relationship between land and sea defines much of Skye’s character, with changing weather and coastal conditions contributing to the atmosphere of the landscape. Mountains, lochs and an indented coastline create a diverse range of environments across the island.
