Fairy Pools

Captured early in the morning, this photograph shows the Fairy Pools beneath dramatic grey and orange storm clouds hanging over the mountains of Glen Brittle. A powerful sun hidden behind the clouds casts a diffused amber light across the landscape, softening the rugged terrain and creating a striking contrast with the dark skies above. The short cascades and crystal-clear pools lend an ethereal quality to the scene, while the wild, untamed character of Skye remains ever-present. The name itself only adds to the sense of mystery and atmosphere that makes the Fairy Pools such a memorable place.
