The Vjosa River flows through southern Albania and is recognised as one of Europe’s last major free-flowing rivers. This view from Tepelenë overlooks the river as it winds through the valley below, its turquoise waters contrasting with the surrounding landscape. Large sections of the Vjosa are now protected, preserving a rare example of a largely undisturbed river system.
